I recently met this guy on the way home from a bar near my home.
It was very cold outside, and I know of shelters that are not far from where he was.
As I ask almost every person I meet who is sleeping outside, I asked him why he was not in a shelter.
He told me that the shelters have a lot of “negative energy”: many of the people there complain about their lives non-stop, and that makes him even more negative about his situation.
I believe there are other reasons he chooses to sleep outside.
Regardless, there is no need for persons to sleep outside during the winters.
We can address this problem. No human should have to live on the streets.
