Gibson

This is Gibson.  He came here from Nigeria around 2 years ago, and now he’s homeless.

For the small price of a Big Daddy biscuit, he told me some of his story.

In Nigeria, there was only “so much he could accomplish” so he decided to come to Canada, because he heard that it was a welcoming country, not like how the United States has become.

According to CBC news on May 3 2024, the homeless population of Quebec grew to 33% over the last 5 years.  I don’t think that this is acceptable, when I see so many Teslas, BMWs, and Audis in the same neighborhood where I encountered Gibson.

In fact, as the pandemic was ending, I remember a day I was walking to my gym.  I recall passing a Lamborghini SUV, several Teslas, and 2 Jaguars before arriving at the gym.  But I also encountered more homeless persons than I have ever seen on that same route.

This simply doesn’t make sense to me.

We can address this problem.  No human should have to live on the streets.
